Starship Redesign

I was responsible for designing possible ideas for diverse usage on Starship. Additionally, I documented and presented relevant research (background and user), scenarios, storyboards, sketches, user evaluation results, interview audio, and a final design accompanied by a design rationale as a Purdue UXD team.

My Role

I was UX Designer, researcher, and presenter for the project and collaborated with a team to ensure the redesign met user needs based on conducted diverse interviews.

Goal for this Project

The goal of this project is to explore the expanded potential of Purdue's Starship robots beyond food delivery, aiming to cultivate new forms of human-to-human interaction on campus. Through user research, ideation, prototyping, the project seeks to understand the user attitudes and design innovative solutions that challenge conventional perceptions of the robots' capabilities. By leveraging skills, our team could develop alternative functionalities such as supply delivery, message dissemination, and campus-wide games, ultimately fostering connections within the Purdue community while expanding the robots' utility beyond traditional food service.
